Sunflower Cinema Club
Celebrating Underrated Indie Films
About Sunflower Cinema Club
The mission of Sunflower Cinema Club is to help indie filmmakers and artists showcase their work to a larger audience. We do this by hosting screening events in New York, like our Indie Music Video Nights @ Purgatory in Brooklyn, and posting about underrated indie gems on social media.
We are building a community of filmmakers, artists, and film lovers who want to support one another and the independent film scene. We are working hard on more events and future plans, so stay tuned to our social media pages.
Our Events
Indie Music Video Night
On August 5th, 2026, we ran a curated screening of music videos from indie artists and filmmakers. Hosted at Purgatory in Brooklyn, NY. This event brought in local musicians to watch each other’s work. Hosted in the downstairs area, this was our test run, and it was successful; we packed the room.
Indie Music Video Night 2
On October 27th, 2026, we will have our second event. Due to the success of the first night, we are now expanding this event to the upstairs venue at Purgatory. Tickets are available on DICE. Submissions are accepted until October 13th through our Google form.
Social Media Film Recommendations
While we expand our events, we are also trying to build an online community of filmmakers and film lovers by recommending underrated films that are streaming online on websites like YouTube and Vimeo. You can submit your films by DMing our Instagram account or emailing us.
